Since our inception, we at KEI have endorsed volunteerism in our community, not only by offering corporate financial support to a wide range of organizations but also by encouraging philanthropy in our employees. This combined commitment has made us both a stronger company and a community leader.
We have been recognized worldwide for our beliefs, values and efforts in community support. This recognition has earned us the reputation of both a generous employer and responsible corporate citizen.
We are committed to supporting on-going community improvement initiatives including United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area, United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries, Grand River Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Kuntz Park located on the Walter Bean Grand River Community Trail, Grand River Conservation, Volunteer Action Centre, Junior Achievement, Mosaic Catholic Family Counseling Centre, Anselma House, Canadian Cancer Society, Parkinson’s Society, Children’s Miracle Network, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, House of Friendship, Hospice of Waterloo Region, our local school boards, universities and colleges.
In addition to this, each Christmas our KEI employees donate several hundred toys to our local radio station 570 AM/Salvation Army’s annual Santa Anonymous Toy Drive at our Annual Christmas Party, we have held several successful blood donor clinic assisting Canadian Blood Donor Services onsite at KEI each year and yearly, our employees donate thousands of volunteer hours to numerous charities and associations.

Hospice – Waterloo Region
The Gies Family Centre
This new, state of the art, palliative care centre is located in Waterloo, Ontario. This 10-bed hospice residence, which opened in the spring of 2021 delivers integrated hospice palliative care services, providing around-the-clock care to patients and their families. KEI is proud of our commitment to Hospice Waterloo Region and the part we played in the opening of this new facility.

St. Mary’s Hospital
Located in the heart of Kitchener, Ontario, St. Mary’s Hospital is the second-largest acute care hospital in the St. Joseph’s Health System and is a Regional Cardiac Care Centre proudly serving the residents of the Region of Waterloo, Wellington County and extends its reach to Dufferin, Grey-Bruce and beyond. Originally built in 1924, St. Mary’s Hospital recently underwent renovations; KEI sponsored the construction of both the Oscar and Martha Kuntz Lobby and the Ambulatory Care Area at the hospital.

Kuntz Park
The Walter Bean Trail runs along the Grand River through the cities of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the township of Woolwich in Ontario allowing for walking, cycling, rollerblading and cross-country skiing. KEI is a proud to sponsor Kuntz Park in Kitchener, Ontario as an access point to the trail.
